Drew Cheskin: An Ace Student of the University of Miami
There
is no substitute for working hard in life. College is a place where
students gain knowledge, experience and volunteering opportunities.
Every student should take these opportunities and be a part of good work
and organization to gain experience and knowledge. It is these
experiences and knowledge that helps a student further in life. While
there are many students who do not want to engage in extracurricular
activities, there are some like Drew Cheskin
who love being a part of them. He is a hard working student at the
University of Miami and has passed his freshman year exams with very
good grades. He not only loves to study but is very passionate about
volunteering whenever he gets a chance.
Drew Cheskin is an
undergraduate student who is studying motion pictures production. He has
helped in organizing a 2-week blood and plasma donation program on
campus. He organized this program with the help of OneBlood and Sgt.
Addy Villanueva, Police Sergeant, University of Miami police department.
During this program, he helped OneBloodcollect over 200 units of blood
and plasma. A single unit of blood and plasma could aid up to three
people. Thus, this blood and plasma drive positively helped the lives of
more than 500 people.
Before starting his college career, Drew Cheskin
volunteered at the Miami-Dade animal shelter as a dog walker. He not
only took good care of the dogs but also helped them meet their adoptive
parents. He also volunteered at the Shake-A-Leg Miami Summer camp,
where Drew Cheskin worked with disabled children.
He has also
volunteered to take notes during lectures. He would write notes and
upload them on the note-taker network to help other students who need
this. Drew Cheskin
is like many other student at the University of Miami who works hard
and dedicates himself towards being a part of different volunteer
programs.
He knows that dreaming is not enough for achieving
something in life. Along with having a dream, it is important to be
ready to do the hard work to achieve your goals.
